Aug 30 - performance by Hoang Duy Vang / at Ho Tay lotus, Hanoi

Text - There are some questions of life that the answers cannot be found.
All of our life, from being born, growing up to passing away, we cannot understand whether the life’s destination for us to come is dying or…
To die is satisfactorily ending our life, coming to the days with the sun setting and rising in another pink horizon; and the life still goes on with new periods, new lives, new people, and new faces taking change and so on…

Sep 4 – performance by Ngo Thanh Bac / at Ly Thai To statue, hanoi fine art univercity, Ho Guom lake

Text - Everything follows the FLOW of time.
Time flows by, leaving behind its past. We are used to just live in the present, seldom or never look back at the road we’ve passed.
The modern lifestyle we live in is fast paced, and we hurry, and we forget…
We plunge into the present, but everything will soon pass away…
Is this the consequence?
So why don’t we calm down… slow down… and turn upside down, to see and experience another life that is also “FLOW”ing

Sep 4, 5 – performance by Hoang Minh Duc / at Bui Xuong Trach street, Hanoi

Text - The streets I pass everyday bore me. I’m really tired with their daily, monotonous repetition. With this piece, I wish to create something that stands out, to break the boring atmosphere. I use red powder and spread on the surface of the road, waiting for vehicles to bring their own art.

Text - Appearance may change, but nature never will
Everything exist for its own single purpose; even if we try to change their shapes, their places, the end will be the same, everything will be back to its inherent state.

Sep 8 – performance by Nguyen Huy An / at Ho Guom lake, Hanoi

Text - The Sword Lake, a small, ancient lake, in the heart of Hanoi.
When I think of it, I think of the mud deep down at the bottom.
This layer of mud contains many things, like time stagnant, with history.
Place some cold mud on your head. Silently feel. In front of the distant temple.

That’s how I look at the Sword Lake.

Text - I look, in my shadows, hoping to find something that can fill the emptiness inside. But the more I look, the more I feel empty, and what I find slowly cover my shadow and my self.

Text - Line of time

History is an important part of life. Anywhere in the world, from the faraway desert, to a bustling city, there exists the line of time. Invisible or apparent in your consciousness, there it is. Hanoi, the Long Bien bridge, the old quarters… Man – Soul… Those are what I want to say with this piece. How it links to you, I cannot know. But these are the messages I wish to tell you. Maybe we don’t see things the same way, but I hope you will understand some part of my thoughts. In each man’s soul, wafted inside the value of culture and history. The past is history, the future is hope. And the present is the days we live and strive…

Title: "Soak"
When i walked along with others to perform this work, across the river, something inside me suddenly raised up... then i want to "soak" myself into that water.

Performance was at Me wharf, Huong river bank

Title: 99
Venue: Dong Ba market
Idea: I was impressed by flood in 1999...during the flood, people were sink and swept away by the muddy water

Title 1: "Losing Myself"
Idea: there are many people living with affected manners, they are wearing a mask on their face and an affected costumes. They suppose those manners would help them achieving success, a high position in society; however, it would pay them back the costly result and it'll be too late to recognize.

Idea: I found myself in the others, that means i have similarities with people, each one point

Title: "Chair"
Idea: everyone has their own position in family and society, such position, high or low, all attaches to responsibility, commissions with life. Sometimes, i dream I were grass, tree, happy in the middle of land and sky, open my mind to welcome love in this life.

Title: "The White Road"
Venue: Dong Ba market
Idea: Gap between good-bad, right-wrong... is as faint as a thread. But if we want, we can make/construct ourselves a white road - a bright road to brighten up all living environment.
